Review: This isn't the review I wanted to do this week, but it's been a rough month.

Like always, Shimotsuki can’t tell a story to save her life. It’s cluttered, crazy, over the top, and I feel like there’s a story behind the main story that’s simply not being told. Not to mention the outrageous names. (My favorite is Dust Hill Jesus.)

The setting is in a…future. With technology. And abundant punk style? I’m not totally sure; only that apparently everyone’s wardrobe is composed of h. NAOTO designer clothing. Shimotsuki gives too much attention to visual details, and not enough thought into the bigger picture (no pun intended) and making her setting and story comprehensive.

So this manga is about the effeminate Cry (THAT NAME) being sad that he can’t confess to his crush Sig. And any attempts to have a normal relationship with Sig are sabotaged by Cry’s creepy, psychotic, pseudo-incestuous brother (with a complex), Hard (no, Hard’s his name). Lucky for Cry though, Sig gets more jealous than creeped out by Hard’s shenanigans, and reacts violently (while under The Influence) to Cry’s assumed infidelity(?).

“I’m going to punish you with…oral sex!!” Um, okay.

And everything ends well with them. Boringly, boringly well. So then we move on to the crazy brother’s interpersonal relationships! (Spoiler: he’s not very good at them.) He’s far more interesting than either Sig or Cry because he’s totally batshit. Also he feels that he has nothing to live for now that Cry’s found a replacement guardian in Sig against the abuse and neglect that haunted his childhood. (This is probably why Hard is so insane. Did I forget to mention that they were abused children?)

I do like the relationship between Dust and Hard. Clearly Hard is a psychopath, but he’s a tsundere psychopath, so he’s adorable. At least when Dust finally gets him to put away the claws and start demanding snuggles. (Claws = jerkass behavior; snuggles = penis.) And if it isn’t ridiculously obvious by now, I LOVE TSUNDERES. THEY ARE MY FAVORITE. I WILL ALWAYS BE BIASED AND SHOW FAVORATISM TOWARDS THEM.

Yup, he’s tsundere, and he shows off that perfectly belligerent dere dere in the extra chapter, and I just melt.

But it’s just a tad awkward when Dust calls out Hard’s name in the middle of their passionate lovemaking. Ruins the moment just a bit. “HARD, OH HARD.” Almost seems redundant.

That being said, I think this might be the first time I’ve seen “pump” as a sexy sound effect.
